Yesterday afternoon, just right after the storm Ondoy has made landfall, we were craving for food. We thought the storm is not that bad yet so my mom and i decided to drive to the nearest fast food chain and meat store to buy food for merienda and dinner.

As i was driving, the storm is getting worse. It was almost zero visibility. the wind was strong and the rain was epically heavy. My mom's getting worried and nervous so i slowed down to about 15-20 kph and turned the headlights on.

after more than 10 mins of driving we finally arrived at the meat shop. I was shocked because when i stepped down of of the car the flood was more than a foot deep considering it was just raining hard for 30 mins. My mom went inside the shop already. since the fast food was only two blocks away, i just walked to save time.

it was a heck of an adventure while i was walking. the wind blew harder and the current of the flood was crazy. it's so hard to walk because of the flood so i went to a sari-sari store and stayed there for a while. Realizing that the rain and wind will not stop, i continued walking because it'll be a waste of time staying there. the floor of the store where i stayed was ceramic-tiled so as i was leaving i nearly fell down. good thing i grabbed onto a post. i was in a hurry walking into the flood because i was so wet already. because of my haste, my slipper slipped from my foot and floated away. so i hilariously came after it.

Entering the fast food store was embarrassing. Not only because of all the people staring at me because i look like an evacuee but also because i nearly fell again. crap! it was the second time. to ease the embarrassment, what i just did was the classic "pretend-nothing-happened-technique" haha.

finally i've ordered the foods! heading back to the meat shop will be another problem. i was staring outside through the glass door of the fast food and it was WILD! but bravely i grabbed my umbrella and left the fast food. As i was crossing over the flood an old woman who was wet (but not wild. haha) and seems helpless came over to me and said "Toy, Paki akay naman ako don (pointing to the direction where i'm heading)". "Cge po..". in reply to her. (pogi points din un sa heaven hehe). Ang cheesy naming maglakad haha she was grabbing me by my arms until we reached the front of the meat shop. She thanked me and i bid her goodbye haha asar parang love story. at least for once i was a good samaritan (aww..)

my mom and i finally got home safely but wet and hungry. so then we ate. the storm's crazier that time. the news said that many people were stranded because of the flood. i read tweets about celebrities already on the top of the news. i also found out that the day's rainfall was the highest since 1967. my sister's not yet home and my mom is worrying already.

by around 7.30 pm i received a call from my sister saying that she's stranded. at first i was like "haha! buti nga date kase ng date e." but when i realized that she was serious i handed the phone to my mom to let her handle the situation. In the end my sister just slept in her boyfriend's house.
